| Heard you playing Christmas songs at LL Beans. Sounds and looks like you are a very busy person. I wonder if you have any intrest in song lyrics that I have written over years past. Usually to existing popular recorded music because thats all I had to go by. I am 73 years old and shaky with Parkinsons but still interested in trying to get a song or two played and recorded by someone who has the time and patience to look at them. Respectfully yours, Paul Mason |

| Do you remember a peculiar clarinetist who played in Don Cherry's Seminar? I was the African-American who was totally mesermized by your musical skills and the depth of your musical knowledge. I martriculated at Darmouth College. However, like Robert Frost, I left Dartmouth dazed, but with my soul intact. Fred, in 1969 and 1970, you were always supportive and helpful. Now, armed with a MBA and M.Div., I am a hospital chaplain and I am In Care with the Chicago Metropolitan Association, seeking ordination in the United Church of Christ. I am still playing my clarinet in Chicago State University's Community Concert Band, led by Professor Roxanne Stevenson. I will tour this website, possibly buying one or two CDs. But I will always smile, remembering your fat, inside-out sound that proclaims, "FRED MATTERS!" LOVE ALL WAYS Darrell |
